ITT IIW Capability: Quality Control

Quality Control

At IIW, we take great pride in our products and support continual process improvement through self-monitoring, recording, and review of our processes and procedures. Our quality control system consists of more than just the traditional inspectors. Everyone is responsible for the quality of our products. From our Configuration Management System which records and tracks baseline designs and changes, to the final visual inspections and tests, IIW is committed to producing a quality product.

Quality control procedures in use at IIW include:

  • An electronic traveler system gathers all information about a product as it travels through its manufacturing cycle.
  • We perform thorough visual inspections at critical assembly steps to ensure product integrity.
  • We incorporate multiple test steps through the build cycle to record performance and conformity to design.
  • Wirebonder certification, pull tests, and X-Ray are a normal part of process monitoring during microelectronic assembly.
  • Visual inspections, component placement X-Ray, and testing are part of the process monitoring during electronic assembly.

Adherence of the product to its design is measured at every possible step, and any variation, difficulty, or rework is recorded in the traveler system to provide a complete history of the product build cycle. These electronic travelers are datamined daily for quantitative review by production and project management. Any trends, performance issues, or non-compliances are captured and further analyzed for any process change or improvement.

IIW is committed to producing quality products for our customers, and our quality control program is part of that commitment.
